The West Side Mosquito and Vector Control District is pleased to announce that we are accepting sealed bids for a construction project aimed at improving accessibility and ADA compliance at our district facilities.


Project Title:

Upgrades – Restroom, Doorway, Ramp, and Parking Modifications


Project Location:

West Side Mosquito and Vector Control District

7004 Gas Company Road Taft, California


Project Summary:

This project includes multiple accessibility improvements to our existing facility, including:

  • Restroom modifications

  • Doorway widening

  • Installation of ramps

  • Upgrades to accessible parking areas


We are seeking a qualified contractor to complete this work in compliance with applicable building and accessibility codes.


Important Dates:

  • Bid Due Date: Thursday, August 21st, 2025, by 3:30 P.M.

  • Public Bid Opening: Thursday, August 21st, 2025, at 6:00 P.M.

  • Pre-Bid Job Walk (Mandatory – choose one):

    • Thursday, July 31, 2025 at 10:00 A.M.

    • Thursday, August 7, 2025 at 10:00 A.M.

      Location: 7004 Gas Company Rd., Taft, CA


Bid Submission:

All bids must be submitted in a sealed envelope clearly labeled: "Proposal No. 2025-01 – ADA Compliance Upgrades"

Late bids will not be accepted. Bids will be publicly opened and read aloud at the District Office on the date noted above.


Contractor Requirements:

  • Must hold a valid California Class “B” General Building Contractor License(California Business and Professions Code § 7028.15)

  • This is a prevailing wage project, subject to California Labor Code §§ 1720–1861

  • The contract will be awarded to the lowest responsive and responsible bidder, as defined in California Public Contract Code § 20804

  • Notice of this opportunity is being made in accordance with California Public Contract Code § 20803
